Dr. Kenneth Edelin, Emeritus Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Boston University and author of "Broken Justice, A True Story of Race, Sex, and Revenge in a Boston Courtroom"

WHAT:

Dr. Edelin is in town to speak at the Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood 75th Anniversary Celebration to be held at Franklin Plaza beginning at 7:30pm on October 22. Dr. Edelin will be talking about his own experience as an abortion provider in Boston during the early 1970s, when he was arrested and jailed for providing a legal abortion. He will also address current threats to reproductive choice including a recent rise in violence aimed at abortion providers and continuing efforts to marginalize and restrict access to abortion around the country. He will examine parallels between the civil rights movements and the abortion rights movement.
