Emily Dumas Named to All-Region Team
The sophomore tied the single season school record with 10 home runs
BROCKPORT, NY (05/17/2012)(readMedia)-- Sophomore Emily Dumas (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) of The College at Brockport Softball team has been named to the 2012 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III Northeast All-Region Third-Team. Dumas was one of 15 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) players selected to either the first, second or third teams.
Dumas was named to the All-SUNYAC First-Team and the SUNYAC All-Tournament team earlier this year after leading the Golden Eagles in most offensive categories. The sophomore tied the school record for home runs in a season with 10, including a stretch of six home runs in six games. The 10 home runs ranked second in the SUNYAC on the year.
Dumas also led Brockport with a .383 batting average, 43 RBI, and a .722 slugging percentage. Dumas reached base in every single game throughout the year, and her streak currently sits at 47 games after reaching the final five games of the 2011 season.
