CLEARWATER, FL (09/14/2011)(readMedia)-- Clearwater Christian College women's volleyball player Emma Kile of Butler, PA, was named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Player of the Week for the week of August 29-September 4. According to the NCCAA website, "Emma Kile senior middle hitter for Clearwater Christian College (FL) led her team to the championship of the Labor Day tournament hosted by Clearwater Christian. She had a total of 97 kills (5.1 avg) with a 30% hitting percentage. She also had 60 digs and served 93% with 5 aces. In one match, she averaged 6.5 kills per set. She finished the two day event posting a double/double in each one of the five matches. She was selected as the tournament MVP."
Women's volleyball coach Dr. Vickie Denny said, "This was a great way to start off our season, and Emma was our go to player. Even with other teams putting up double blocks on Emma, she was able to hit around them and find the defensive holes. She also did an incredible job in the back row. I am so pleased that the NCCAA recognized her great week by presenting her with the Player of the Week award."
Emma is a senior Elementary Education major and a 2008 graduate of Calvary Academy. She is the daughter of Jared and Eileen Kile of Butler, PA.
