ATLANTA, GA (01/25/2012)(readMedia)-- Spelman College has promoted Erica Johnson to director of admissions. As director, Johnson will provide oversight of the recruitment and selection of all incoming students both new and transfer; work with the vice president for enrollment management and the enrollment management team to establish new student goals, both qualitative and quantitative; and is responsible for all marketing, outreach, recruitment, and admission activity for prospective undergraduate students.

Prior to her promotion, Johnson was associate director of admissions at Spelman College. During that time, she managed the College's Ambassadors Program; instituted the Take Spelman Home for the Holidays program, connecting current students back to their high schools and favorite teachers; led several on-campus activities including the A Day in Your Life at Spelman and Spel-Bound; and was the admissions office's liaison for a number of Spelman alumnae groups.

Before joining Spelman College, Johnson was an admissions counselor at Alcorn State University, where she received both her bachelor's and master's degrees. She is a graduate of Clarksdale High School.
