BROCKPORT, NY (06/20/2011)(readMedia)-- The College at Brockport's Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Noah LeFevre, announced today the appointment of Erick Hart as the department's Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities.

"Erick brings a wealth of experience t Brockport in the disciplines of facility and event management," said LeFevre. "His previous experience in intercollegiate athletics will serve him well as he moves into this next chapter of his career. We are excited to have him on board."

"Brockport has a great tradition with 23 sports teams and well over 600 student-athletes," said Hart. "It's a large program and that excites me. I'm ready for a new challenge."

Prior to being hired at Brockport, Hart had extensive work experience in college athletics. He previously served as an Assistant Athletic Director at New Paltz since 2007, where he developed policies and procedures for a new 57,000 square-foot Athletics and Wellness Center, created a operations plan for all athletic facilities and devised both an emergency action plan for the athletics department as well as an event management manual for athletic contests.

Hart also worked on securing sponsorships for New Paltz athletics and reached out and established relationships with many past New Paltz alums through e-mail databases aimed at keeping alumni informed of athletic events.

"Brockport gives me a chance to expand my reach, manage the day-to-day operations and also supervise a few intercollegiate programs," said Hart. "We have everything in place, great teams and great academic programs, and top-notch facilities. Brockport should consistently be one of the top teams in the SUNYAC."

Hart served as New Paltz's Facility Manager from 2006-07, and also held down that same job title at Seton Hall University from 2005-06.

While at Seton Hall, Hart was responsible for assisting with the oversight of student employment for the athletics department, and also served as the event manager for the first round of the NCAA men's soccer championships.

Prior to his time at Seton Hall, Hart was the Coordinator of Athletic Facilities at Misericordia (PA) University.

Hart earned his Bachelor's of Science degree in Sport and Recreation Management from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in 2002, and received his Masters of Education in Sport Administration from Millersville (PA) University in 2003.

As a graduate assistant at Millersville, Hart was responsible for overseeing 12 club sports, and he managed the intramural budget and served as the supervisor for all student intramural workers and officials.

A native of Sheffield, PA, Hart played four years on Pitt-Bradford's basketball squad as an undergraduate student.

Hart and his wife, Kristy, have two children: Ethan (2) and Katie (six months old).

Hart is scheduled to begin his duties on July 5.
