ST. PAUL, MINN. (06/15/2011)(readMedia)-- In the tradition of the Great Minnesota Get-Together, visitors to the 2011 State Fair are invited to enjoy the magic of singing together in the first-ever Giant Sing Along. A field of microphones will welcome everyone to sing their lungs out to this year's voted hits, karaoke style. A large screen will feature the lyrics of modern and nostalgic songs. Software magic will help everyone sing in unison. Minnesota home-grown Bremer Bank is sponsoring the fair's newest attraction.

The repertoire of Giant Sing Along songs will be chosen by fair fans. To share song ideas and cast a vote visit www.mnstatefair.org now through July 1.

The Giant Sing Along will be located on Murphy Avenue, across from the Pet Center. It's free and open to all guests each day of the 2011 Minnesota State Fair.

The fair's new participatory public art experience was created by Montreal-based artists Mouna Andraos and Melissa Mongiat. The Giant Sing Along is presented by Bremer Bank in collaboration with Northern Lights.mn, the Minnesota State Fair and contributors to the Minnesota State Fair Foundation.

Andraos and Mongiat come from the fields of interaction design and narrative environments, and research new ways to tell stories. Regarding the fair's Giant Sing Along, Andros and Mongiat said, "Building on the contagious, positive energy of the fair, participants will connect with one another by sharing in a collective and moving musical experience. This uplifting activity is accessible to all and designed with the goal of inspiring guests to do something in unison." The two design large-scale projects that impact cities down to tiny ones that fit inside a pocket, bringing art to everyday life and inviting the public to become active contributors.
