GRAND RAPIDS MI (11/12/2009)(readMedia)-- While food and exercise may not seem to go together they certainly are linked for the Grand Rapids Fight for Air Climb as Papa Murphy's Take 'N" Bake Pizza joins with the American Lung Association in Michigan in the fight against lung disease.
Scheduled for March 13 at the River House -- Grand Rapids tallest building -- participants can choose to take the 34 floors at their own pace or by racing their time against other climbers. A $100 fundraising minimum and registration fee are required of all climbers.
When you walk away from the American Lung Association's 2010 Fight for Air Stair Climb, you will walk away with a new found respect for your lungs and the knowledge that you have done something important in the fight against lung disease -- not to mention that you will have received some great food.
Sponsor Papa Murphy's will provide a coupon for a free fresh salad to everyone that registers; give a free one-topping pizza to climbers when they reach the $100 fundraising minimum; award a free one-topping pizza per month for one year to the first 25 participants to raise $250; and provide a free one-topping pizza per week for one year to the first 10 participants to raise $500. Participants will qualify at either the $250 or $500 levels, but not both.
The American Lung Association's Fight for Air means:
We won't breathe easy until we win the fight.
