NASHVILLE, TN (12/01/2009)(readMedia)-- As the 2009 chairperson for Tennessee's Christmas Seals campaign, former National Football Leaguer and Titans wide receiver Chris Sanders will take center stage against lung disease this Friday on the American Lung Association's float in Nashville's annual Christmas Parade.
This year's float, which will feature a scene reminiscent of a traditional Christmas Seal, is a first for Sanders and for the American Lung Association, who welcome the opportunity to raise awareness about good lung health. Sanders, currently a counselor at Montgomery Bell Academy, will be joined on the float by several MBA students.
Friday, December 4, 2009 7:00 PM CST
Parade begins at 8th and Broadway and heads east to 2nd Avenue, then follows Woodland Street Bridge to the Coliseum
For more than 100 years, the American Lung Association's annual Christmas Seals campaign has supported the fight for healthy lungs and healthy air. Begun in 1907 to fight tuberculosis, today's campaign helps fund research, advocacy and education geared at stopping lung cancer, COPD, asthma and other lung health threats.
