GLENMONT, NY (10/27/2011)(readMedia)-- Free Apple Slices Distributed as McDonald's Launches New Happy Meal with New York Apple Growers
WHAT: McDonald's regional launch of the new Happy Meals in collaboration with the New York Apple Association. The first 200 children who come to the restaurant will receive free packets of New York apples.
WHO: Speakers will include Doug Arnott, owner of the Guilderland McDonald's, New York Apple Association President Jim Allen. Other apple growers and government representatives will also be in attendance.

WHY: McDonald's has been sourcing from New York orchards since 2004. In order to encourage children to enjoy foods that are good for them, McDonald's has created the new Happy Meal, including 4-piece Chicken McNuggets, apple slices, new smaller size French fries and 1% low fat white milk or fat-free chocolate milk.
