Monday Noon Program
SCHENECTADY, NY (10/16/2013)(readMedia)-- The Friends of Schenectady County Public Library will offer a two part Special Features program entitled Navy Blue and Gold at the Central library, 99 Clinton Street in Schenectady. On Oct. 28 representatives from the Volunteer Speakers Bureau will relate the journey of the USS Slater, a WWII destroyer that is now a museum at the Port of Albany. On Nov. 4 Ray Misiewicz, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Ret., will discuss the evolution of the nuclear submarie's exploration under the ice canopy in the Arctic Ocean Basis. The programs are held in the McChesney Room, beginning at 12:00 pm. All are open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lunch; beverages are available for a nominal fee.
