Geneva College Adult Degree Programs offers tuition credit

As part of its ongoing efforts to help adults considering a bachelor's degree, Geneva will provide a $1,000 tuition credit for students entering the program this spring.

BEAVER FALLS, PA (12/11/2013)(readMedia)-- Geneva College's Adult Degree Programs has announced its latest initiative to help adults who are considering completing an accredited bachelor's degree- a tuition credit of up to $1,000 available to new students.

Throughout its 25-year history, Geneva's Adult Degree Programs has worked hard to provide adult students an affordable option for pursuing an accelerated degree. For example, the program's tuition rate includes all required textbooks, which is a considerable fee that is normally added on top of an institution's advertised cost. In addition the Adult Degree Programs does not charge any other fees except for a nominal graduation fee to cover the cost of a cap and gown. And a student's tuition is guaranteed to remain the same for as long as he or she is continually enrolled in the program, so there are no price increases from start to finish.

Now, the $1,000 tuition credit provides additional financial assistance for adult students who are ready to invest in a college education. To qualify, a student must begin classes in the 2014 spring semester and enroll in at least 12 credits. The amount of the credit may be superseded by another grant or scholarship.

Current students in the program who took advantage of a previously available tuition credit in the fall of 2013 report that the offer had a significant impact on being able to enroll. "It helped significantly because I am paying for my education without financial aid or loans," reports Jason Beattie, who currently works for PNC Financial Services Group. "Now that I have had a chance to settle in to my new educational journey, I could not be more pleased. The professors are warm and welcoming, and always available and willing to help."

Adult Degree Programs students can complete a bachelor's degree in as little as 17 months. Financial aid is available with nearly 90% of students receiving some form of assistance including grants, scholarships and loans. And the Adult Degree Program's graduation rate is consistently well above the national average.

All Adult Degree Programs students also have full access to Geneva's Beaver Falls campus facilities, such as the McCartney Library and the Fitness Center.

The Adult Degree Programs currently offers fully online bachelor's degree programs in organizational leadership, human resources and Christian ministry leadership. The start dates for online programs are February 17 and April 21, 2014.

Geneva's online classes are taught by qualified and experienced Geneva professors, and students are able to complete coursework on their own time and in their own homes. Students have full online access to assignments, instructors and the college library.

Classroom programs are also available, with majors in organizational development, human resources, human services and Christian ministry leadership. Start dates for classroom programs vary by major.

In classroom programs, the class size is small with between 10-18 students. Following a cohort model, students are in class with the same group of students for every course in a major. Classes are offered at 11 convenient locations throughout Western Pennsylvania, including Pittsburgh, Monroeville, Butler, Cranberry, Johnstown, Somerset, Everett and Beaver Falls.
