Geneva College Provides Free Admission For 2011 Season Opener: Community Night
BEAVER FALLS, PA (08/29/2011)(readMedia)-- For the third consecutive year, Geneva College and the Golden Tornadoes' football program will invite the Beaver County community to the season opener free of charge. As a token of appreciation for the support that continues to be shown toward Geneva College, there will be no admission taken for the season opener on Saturday night when the Golden Tornadoes host Frostburg State in the 2011 football season opener.
Geneva College will open the Reeves Field gates for free to enjoy Golden Tornadoes' football as they open up their first season as a full member of NCAA Division III and the Presidents' Athletic Conference. Geneva will be seeking its third consecutive season opening victory over the Bobcats after a thrilling 32-27 victory a year ago in Maryland.
In addition to the season opener, Geneva College will also be celebrating the 15 year anniversary of its 1996 Mid-States Football Association conference championship team. Honorary captains from that year will be on hand to represent one of the greatest teams in school history.
The Golden Tornadoes will take to the road after Saturday's home opener and won't return to Reeves Field until September 24th and a meeting with Bethany College in the first conference home game as a full member of the PAC. Next week, Geneva will travel to Reading, PA to take on Albright before opening up conference play on September 17th against three-time conference champion Thomas More College.
