Premiering Oct. 31, the production features poetic monologues on love, life and longing.
BEAVER FALLS, PA (10/08/2013)(readMedia)-- Geneva College Theatre Director Mindy George invites you to step out of your world and onto the hill where dead people come to life. Listen to the tales of the dead, lament with the downcast and rejoice with the contented souls. The sleeping folk of Spoon River want their stories heard, so enter the cemetery to learn their fates.
Spoon River premieres on Thursday, October 31, with further showings on November 1 and November 2, as well as on the following week, November 7, 8 and 9. Show times are at 8 p.m. every day, and there are additional Saturday matinee shows at 2 p.m. Performances will take place at Geneva's Studio Theatre, which is located next to Sheetz on Fourth Avenue in Beaver Falls, PA.
This play is set in Spoon River Cemetery, Illinois. The characters tell their tales-some happy, some sad-through a series of poetic monologues written by Edger Lee Masters and arranged by George. The stories are of the trials and triumphs of love, life and longing. Spoon River takes viewers out of reality and into the cemetery where they will experience the beauty and tragedy of death and life.
