ALBANY, NY (11/08/2012)(readMedia)-- In conjunction with their recent Fall product sale of nuts/candy and magazines, girls in the Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York council have been reaching out to friends and family to collect health and beauty items to support Healthy Living for girls and women in their communities. They will be joining other Girl Scouts in their area to "Fill the Girl Scout Van" with health and beauty products that will be sorted and distributed to local agencies serving girls and women. Healthy Living is one of five areas of program focus for GIrl Scouts where the recognition of the interconnectivity of physical & emotional health with self-esteem is promoted - the notion of the "whole girl."
Girl Scouts will be cheering each other on from 11am-1pm on:
November 10, 2012, Girl Scout Service Center, 213 Meadowbrook Road, Queensbury, NY
November 12, 2012, Girl Scout Service Center, 8 Mountain View Avenue, Albany, NY
November 17, 2012, Clinton Community College, 136 Clinton Point Drive, Plattsburgh, NY
If interested in aiding Girl Scouts in this effort with the donation of toiletry items, please contact Susan Conway at sconway@gsneny.org or at 518-792-0947 ext. 203.
