Girls Grades 8-12 Have Opportunity to Get a Peek Into 25+ Careers from Female Professionals

ALBANY, NY (10/23/2014)(readMedia)-- Girls in grades 8-12 are invited to get insight into more than 25 careers through the Dare to Climb mentoring program to be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 9:30am to 2:45pm at Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Water Park. Rotating workshops on topics from dressing for success, money management and more are part of the full schedule. Women from a diversity of fields and organizations such as GE, Vicarious Visions, The Times Union, Overit Media, Skidmore College, Gilbane, Inc., SUNY Polytechnic Institute-Colleges of Nanoscale Science & Engineering and many more will be participating - the full list of mentors by name, title & organization is below. Tickets are available online for $30 if purchased by October 31, 2014 and $45 from November 1 -13. The ticket includes breakfast & lunch, the full program and a ticket to the water park for use that day until the park closes at 9pm. The program offers other elements which will enhance the preparedness of girls in reaching their leadership potential. Details of the full schedule are as follows:

8:30am-9:00am: Registration and Check in

9:00am-9:30am: Group Welcome and Icebreaker: Gayle LaSalle, author & corporate/personal leadership facilitator.

9:30am-11:30am: Minute Mentoring: Girls will connect in small groups with individual mentors for 6 minutes at a time. Mentors will come from a diverse range of professional fields where girls can learn about different careers, seek advice, ask questions, and get answers!

11:30am-12:30pm: Elbows off the Table: Buffet lunch with a demonstration in meal etiquette.

12:30pm-2:30pm: Rotating 30 Minute Workshops

2:30pm-2:45pm: Closing Speaker & Wrap Up: Vicki Savini, educator, motivational speaker, encouraging girls to find their inner light.
