James Cody Scores 100th Career Point at Brockport
Cody earns two points in upset win over No. 5 Elmira
BROCKPORT, NY (12/12/2011)(readMedia)-- Senior forward James Cody (Schwenksville, PA) scored his 100th career point Saturday night as The College at Brockport Men's Hockey team upset Elmira College, the No. 5 team in Division III hockey. The win is considered one of the biggest victories in school history.
Cody, who has led the Golden Eagles in scoring during his first three seasons, scored a goal with seven seconds remaining in the third period to tie the game at three and force overtime. It was Cody's 10th game of the season and his 51st of his career.
Just 58 seconds into the overtime period, Cody found a streaking Ian Finnerty (Ardmore, PA) skating past the Brockport bench on the fly and ripped a slap shot just inside the blue line. His shot hit the side post and ricocheted in the net to clinch the upset for the Golden Eagles. The assist was Cody's eight of the year, and his 49th of his career.
