Joseph Yanks of Lakewood Earns Academic Recognition at Skidmore College

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (07/20/2011)(readMedia)-- Joe Yanks, a member of the Class of 2011 at Skidmore College, earned recognition at the college this spring.

He is the son of Thomas Yanks and Carolyn Hufford of Lakewood.

Yanks earned a B.A. degree at Skidmore's 100th commencement in the spring.

During the spring, Yanks was named Skidmore's Student Employee of the Year in recognition of his exemplary work as the college's Facebook community manager. For the last three years, he proved to be an exceptional ambassador for Skidmore, helping incoming students in countless ways and serving the offices of Communications and the First-Year Experience as a trusted advisor on Facebook strategy.

Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
