Moving to Stratford in 1976, Keith Carlson has gone above and beyond to make his small community a better place. A long-time agriculture advocate, Keith provides information on animal care, soil conservation, and food safety to the agri-food system, including McDonald's and Costco. More than $1.3 million was raised to construct Athens Woods Estate, now a nursing home. He also served on the Stratford Kids Academy Building Committee to build a new facility for the Daycare and Pre-School, now known as the Early Learning Center. Grace Lambert says Keith is a "community-minded, family man with lots of energy that he uses for the good of many!"
Keith's day of recognition will be on Wednesday, August 15 at the 2018 Iowa State Fair. He will be recognized with a presentation on the Anne & Bill Riley stage at 2:00 p.m. Along with accommodations at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown, he will receive a gift bag, Grandstand tickets and use of the Iowan of the Day golf cart.
