Kevin Dorn Named Brockport Athlete of the Week

BROCKPORT, NY (10/16/2012)(readMedia)-- Sophomore Kevin Dorn (Dix Hills, NY/Half Hallow Hills East) has been named The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week after helping the men's soccer team to a 2-0 conference weekend. Brockport is now tied for first-place in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) with a 6-1 record.

In the two games over the weekend, Dorn tallied five points including two goals against Oswego on Saturday. The sophomore has a team-leading seven goals on the year. His 16 points are also tops for the Golden Eagles.

Against Cortland on Friday, Dorn assisted on the game's very first goal. Dorn was credited with an assist on Kevin Nichols' (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) 27th minute goal as the Golden Eagles cruised to a 4-0 victory. Brockport continued to score with ease against Oswego on Saturday, winning 5-1. After Oswego was charged with an own goal, Dorn scored the next two Brockport goals, his second multi-goal game of the year. The sophomore scored in the 11th minute and again 10 minutes later. Dorn also leads Brockport with three game-winning goals this year.

The Golden Eagles wrap up their regular season schedule with a pair of SUNYAC games this weekend. Brockport will take on Potsdam on Friday at 3:00 pm and Plattsburgh on Saturday at 2:00 pm. Both games are on the road. Last season, Dorn scored a goal against each opponent.
