COLUMBUS OH (08/20/2014)(readMedia)-- Dr. Sumita Khatri, Shaker Heights, has been elected to the National Board of Directors of the American Lung Association, the leading organization working to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.
Currently Co-Director of the Asthma Center and a staff physician at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Khatri has been volunteering with the American Lung Association for more than 10 years.
Starting with her ALA involvement in northeast Ohio on projects involving asthma, air quality, and lung health issues, she now also serves on the charter board of the American Lung Association of the Midland States. The American Lung Association of the Midland States, based in Columbus OH, provides programs and services in Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and Tennessee.
Dr. Khatri is also serving as director of FLEX, the Professional Development Program for Women Faculty at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine; as a member of the advisory board of Environmental Health Watch; on the advisory board of MedScape Educational Group in the Pulmonary and Allergy section; and as co-chair of the Asthma/COPD Assembly of the Healthy Homes Advisory Council.
