Pumpkins Galore at Liberty Ridge Farm

SCHAGHTICOKE, NY (10/11/2010)(readMedia)-- Liberty Ridge Farm celebrates the fall pumpkin harvest with a festival of pumpkin events, activities, and specialty foods. The 2010 Pumpkin Fest to be held Saturday and Sunday, October 16 & 17th will feature the Liberty Ridge Farm Pumpkin Princess and hourly Pumpkin Cannon Salutes.

"Its pumpkins galore at Liberty Ridge Farm this weekend," said Owner Cynthia Gifford. "It has been a great pumpkin season and we have them in all sizes for making jack-o-lanterns, baking pies, or shooting from our cannon."

Among the harvest festival events are paint your own 'take home' pumpkins, gourd toss, and bobbing for pumpkin donuts. The Pumpkin Cannon, Liberty Ridge Farm's special compressed air ordnance, will be shot off every hour. Throughout the day the Pumpkin Princess will be hosting photo opportunities with children and families. Magic Brushes will be providing pumpkin-themed face painting, and Farmer Bruce will be performing balloon artistry, tricks and jokes. The Farm kitchen will be serving up delicious pumpkin themed delights, such as pumpkin soup, as well as hearty farm fixins.

While attending Pumpkin Fest families can enjoy all the fall harvest fun at Liberty Ridge Farm with the Gifford Barn Corn Maze and Brad's Barnyard of Family Fun Adventure. Kids love playing in the 8-acre Brad's Barnyard of family farm adventure, featuring the Miss Moo's Musical Revue, Giant Gerbil Wheels, Pig races, trolley rides and feeding farm animals.
