Liberty Ridge Farm Expands Family Farm Olympics

Features Special Sunday Night Harvest Haunted Attraction Show

SCHAGHTICOKE, NY (10/04/2010)(readMedia)-- Liberty Ridge Farm has expanded its annual Family Farm Olympics to be held this Columbus Day Weekend. A Chicken Chase and Duck Race have been added to the games that include corn shucking, egg-on-a-spoon, 3-legged relays and Potato Sack Races. Each event ends with a farm-style award ceremony, where every one who enters receives a commemorative medal to take home.

"Our Family Farm Olympics challenges families to compete together in good old-fashioned games," said Cynthia Gifford of Liberty Ridge Farm, "We're all about healthy outdoor fun."

In addition to the games, the Columbus Day weekend Family Farm Olympics festivities include specialty foods, face painting by Magic Brushes, scarecrow decorating along Scarecrow Row, and balloon artistry by Farmer Bruce. Throughout the day the Pumpkin Princess, who loves getting her picture taken with children, will be touring the farm looking for photo opportunities. The Family Farm Olympics will be from 1:00P.M. – 5:00 P.M Saturday, Sunday and Monday, October 9th - 11th.

New this year is a special Sunday night performance of the 2010 Harvest Haunted Attraction. The evening event opens at 7pm, and includes the Haunted Farmers House, a journey through the secret underground tunnel into the Forest of Fear and onto the grand finale in the Spooky Corn Maze. Recommended age appropriateness for the Harvest Haunted Attraction is 10 years old and older. The Harvest Haunted Attraction admission is $15.00

Opening every day at 10am, admission to Liberty Ridge Farm, all the mazes and farm activities is only $9.50, Children under 2 free.
