Liberty Ridge Farm Fall Season Opening with Birthday Extravaganza September 12th & 13th

SCHAGHTICOKE, NY (08/31/2009)(readMedia)-- The Liberty Ridge Farm Fall Festival is 10 years old! As New York celebrates the 400th anniversary of the Discovery of New York, the Gifford Family is celebrating its 10th season of family fun and adventure with a full schedule of special events and celebrations, starting with opening weekend.

The Gifford Family invites all to join in the 10th season of fun with free birthday cake during the opening weekend Birthday Extravaganza, Saturday and Sunday, 9/12 and 13, from 1pm till 5pm. There will be a Happy Birthday sing-along with 400 candles on 10 Liberty Ridge Farm birthday cakes, and free cake for all, each day. Local radio stations will emcee the festivities with FLY92 on Saturday and B95 on Sunday, from 1-3pm. Farmer Bruce and Magic Brushes will be painting faces, telling jokes, and passing out balloon animals all afternoon.

"We are celebrating 10 years of family fun at Liberty Ridge Farm," said Cynthia Gifford, owner of Liberty Ridge Farm. "We start with our Birthday Extravaganza opening weekend and the excitement continues all season right through to our season ending Halloween Costume Ball for the kids."

The Liberty Ridge Farm Harvest Season Fall Festival, featuring the ExploreNY Adventure Corn Maze, begins September 12th and runs through November 1st, closing the day after Halloween. Featured events on the 2009 Liberty Ridge Farm Fall Festival of adventure are:

• Opening weekend Birthday Extravaganza, 9/12-13, The Gifford Family invites all to join in the 10th anniversary fun with free birthday cake during our opening weekend Birthday Extravaganza. Free Birthday cake for all 1 – 5pm
• Rensselaer County Farm Bureau 6th Annual 'Taste of Rensselaer County' Reception, 9/15, Celebrating local farms and food. Tuesday, September 15, 2009, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• 8th Annual Gifford Barn Corn Fest, 9/19-20, celebrating the bounty of locally grown sweet corn with culinary delights, corn husking, corn-on-the-cob eating contests and grilled corn with specialty butters.
• Harvest Haunt Adventures, Friday and Saturday nights in October are the Harvest Haunt Adventures in the Field of Screams and Forest of Fear. At 7pm the spirits rise from the dead to provide special admission activities in a spooky corn maze.
• All About Scouts Weekend!, 10/2-4, with special pricing and the Liberty Ridge Farm "I Conquered the MAiZE" patch for active Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
• Family Farm Olympics 10/10-12 Columbus Day Weekend, old fashion games, competitions and prizes for all the family. A portion of all admissions will benefit Vanderheyden Children and Family Services.
• Liberty Ridge Farm Pumpkin Fest, 10/24-25, Pumpkins galore with pumpkin painting, pumpkin pies, pumpkin soup and pumping pickin' just in time for Halloween.
• Season Ending Halloween Costume Ball, 10/31, 12-4pm, Special Farm Costume Parade, Monster Mash Dance Party, and safe Halloween activities throughout the farm.

Admission to Liberty Ridge Farm, all the mazes and farm activities is only $9.50, Children under 2 free. Haunted Nights special event admission will be $15.
