Liberty Ridge Farm now Booking 2010 Educational Field Trips

Farm Family Values focus of Unique Learning Adventures

SCHAGHTICOKE, NY (06/15/2010)(readMedia)-- Liberty Ridge Farm, an agricultural tourism destination and working farm, is now booking educational field trips for the 2010 fall season. Celebrating the 11th season of creating unique student learning adventures, the Liberty Ridge Farm field trip provides class groups an educational and fun-filled day on the farm.

"Our 2010 corn maze theme, the Gifford Family Barn, focuses on our farm family values of working together, communication, and persistence," said Cynthia Gifford, owner of Liberty Ridge Farm, "Admirable traits all students can learn from."

A field trip to Liberty Ridge Farm is a lesson plan in itself. Farm activities teach students memorable lessons about the world they live in. At the heart of Liberty Ridge Farm is the Capital Region's largest corn maze, offering an interactive learning experience that allows students to navigate their way through the twists and turns. A Maze passport game enhances the experience by teaching valuable team building and problem solving skills. A trip to the Farm also includes:

• The enhanced Educational Center that features hands on learning about farm history, animals, and why trees are so important for our planet.

• The new Pumpkin Cannon show provides a physics lesson in potential and kinetic energy while watching a pumpkin sail a quarter of a mile.

• The Bee Barn, an observational bee hive, providing a lesson in the pollination process and the importance of bees to our food source.

• A pre-school favorite - Lil' Farmersville, designed to be developmentally appropriate for children 6 and under.

The Liberty Ridge Farm educational field trip provides students and chaperones a three hour learning experience designed to align with New York State curriculum guidelines, and is offered to school field trips as well as daycare and nursery schools at special group discount rates. Each group receives a site map, a suggested itinerary, and a shaded area for lunch. Groups can bag their own lunch, or order ahead from the Liberty Ridge Farm kitchen, and we make it for you!

Liberty Ridge Farm is now booking for their fall Educational Field Trips that will be available starting 9/20/10 and continuing through 11/11/10. While general admission starts at 10am, group admissions start at 9am Monday through Fridays. With pre-registration of an educational field trip, admission is only $8 each for students and chaperones, a price that has not changed in four years. Faculty and school staffs are admitted free.
