SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (07/01/2013)(readMedia)-- Brian Dowe, a member of the Class of 2013 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.
He is the son of Maia and Richard Dowe of Chester.
Dowe earned a B.A. degree cum laude with honor in physics at Skidmore's 102nd commencement in May. In addition, he received the Eleanor A. Samworth Prize in Physics, named in honor of a former professor and awarded annually to an outstanding senior physics major. He also was elected to membership in Sigma Pi Sigma, the national physics honor society, and to Pi Mu Epsilon, the national honorary mathematics society.
Dowe earned honors for academic work completed during the spring 2013 semester at the college.
Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
