SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (06/28/2013)(readMedia)-- Jean Ann Kubler, a member of the Class of 2013 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.
She is the daughter of LuAnn Kubler of Brooklyn.
Kubler earned a B.A. degree magna cum laude at Skidmore's 102nd commencement in May. In addition, she received two academic prizes: the Susan Rile Gunderson '64 Prize, named in honor of a Skidmore alumna and presented annually for outstanding work in the field of American government; and the Erwin L. Levine Prize in Government, named in honor of a former professor and awarded for outstanding work in political theory, preferably in American political thought. Kubler also was awarded the Jane Anne Hapeman Distinguished Service Award. Nominations for the award are made by first-year students and the recognition is give to an upperclass student who has provided extraordinary guidance and suppot in helping new students meet the challenge of their first year at Skidmore.
During her Skidmore career, she was elected to membership in Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society.
She also earned honors for academic work completed during the spring 2013 semester.
Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
