Local Student Michael Gifis of Lawrenceville Earns Academic Recognition at Skidmore College

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (06/30/2010)(readMedia)-- Michael Gifis, a member of the Class of 2010 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.

He is the son of Steven and Susan Gifis of Lawrenceville.

Gifis earned a B.S. degree cum laude at Skidmore's 99th commencement in May. In addition, he was elected to membership in the Alpha Zeta Chapter of Omicron Delta Epsilon, the international honor society in economics.

He received the Seymour and Sylvia Goldman Memorial Prize, awarded annually to an outstanding senior in the Department of Management and Business.

Gifis earned honors for academic work completed during the spring semester at Skidmore.

Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
