Madison Buckley Named SUNYAC Athlete of the Week
BROCKPORT, NY (09/11/2012)(readMedia)-- Junior forward Madison Buckley (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) of The College at Brockport Field Hockey team has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Field Hockey Athlete of the Week. It is the second time Buckley has earned the honor, also being named Athlete of the Week on Sept. 26, 2011.
In the Golden Eagles' only game last week, Buckley had a hand in both points in a 2-0 win over St. John Fisher. The junior scored a late goal at the 57:45 mark to break a 0-0 tie. The goal proved to be Buckley's third career game-winning goal. Eight minutes later, Buckley assisted on an insurance goal to Danielle Henck (Sauquoit, NY/Sauquoit Valley).
With the win, Brockport improved to 2-1 overall on the season. The Golden Eagles will take on Nazareth on Tuesday, the team's home opener. Game time is set for 4:00 pm at Brockport Field.
