Math and a Muffin at Taylor School
Students partake in math games to solve problems
TROY, NY (02/05/2013)(readMedia)-- On Friday morning, students at the Susan Odell taylor School will sit down to enjoy a muffin and engage in math games with their families and friends. The purpose of this activity is to discover how we can use math skills to solve problems. Math games develop mathematical vocabulary as well as listening and speaking skills. Students are required to interact and use language skills to complete various tasks by giving and receiving instructions to each other.
The students invite their families to come and play the games with them to show how math is fun. They will play such games as; math dice, games with an abacus, magic squares, empty number lines, ten frames, and many more.
