WASHINGTON, DC (09/18/2015)(readMedia)-- All media representatives are invited to attend the D.C. Air National Guard Recruiting Recognition Day event at Joint Base Andrews, Md., tomorrow, Sept. 18. The event will recognize some of the unit's top Airman for helping bring personnel into the D.C. Air National Guard.
What: D.C. Air National Guard Recruiting Appreciation Day event
Where: 113th Wing, Hangar 16, 3252 East Perimeter Road, Joint Base Andrews, Md.
When: Friday, Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In years past, those who recruited members could look forward to cash incentives or non-cash incentives such as incentive flights on F-16s or C-40s. With defense budget constraints, most of those incentives are no longer available. As such, we searched for a way to say thank you to those who have helped keep our ranks strong.
During the event Friday, we will celebrate the outstanding heritage of the D.C. National Guard, the important missions we continue to perform, and a few words from our top leaders.
Friday is a military-only preview of the 2015 Joint Base Andrews Air Show. Guests will experience aerial demonstrations and learn more about the military personnel and equipment the Air Force uses to carry out the missions here.
The Joint open house rehearsal will include an aerial demonstration by the USAF Thunderbirds. Watching the Thunderbirds will be part of the the Recruiting Appreciation event.
