NEW YORK AVIATION MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBERS

ALBANY, NY (10/08/2013)(readMedia)-- New York Aviation Management Association welcomed five new members to its Board of Directors on Thursday, September 19 at its annual Business Meeting held during NYAMA's Fall Conference and Exhibit Show in Albany, New York. Sam Arcadipane, Manager of Airports and Parks, Chautauqua County Airport, John Delbalso, Property, Operations, and Security Manager, Albany International Airport, Ross Dubarry, Airport Manager, Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport, Peter Stearn, Vice President, Fortbrand Services, and Lee Weitz, Assistant Director of Aviation, Buffalo Niagara International Airport join the board via nomination and will serve two year terms.

At Thursday's Business Meeting, Ann B. Crook, AAE, Director of Aviation at the Elmira Corning Regional Airport, NYAMA's members unanimously re-elected president of the New York Aviation Management Association. Ms. Crook was first elected in 2012 and has presided over an exciting and successful year for NYAMA. She brings 23 years of aviation management experience to the association.

NYAMA's members also voted unanimously to retain the current slate of board officers through 2014: Christina R. Callahan, Commissioner of Syracuse Hancock International Airport, Vice President; William McShane, Vice President, Sheltair Aviation, Treasurer; Edward Mullins, Airline Business Development, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Secretary; and Chad Nixon, Senior Vice President, McFarland Johnson, Inc., Past President.

"I truly appreciate the professional commitment that our Board of Directors and Officers have made to improving aviation to benefit all New Yorkers," said Ms. Crook.

NYAMA's 2013-2014 Board of Directors also includes: Carl Beardsley, Commissioner of Aviation, Greater Binghamton Airport; Michael Giardino, Director of Aviation, Greater Rochester International Airport; Fritz Kass, Aviation Advocate; Chris Kreig, Manager, Plattsburgh International Airport; Shelley LaRose-Arken, Manager, Republic Airport; Jeremy Martelle, Senior Aviation Planner, The Louis Berger Group, Inc.; and Robert Nicholas, Manager, Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport.

NYAMA was founded in 1976 as the New York Airport Managers Association by representatives of New York State Airports. In 2000, the Association changed its name to the New York Aviation Management Association to reflect is growing sphere of influence and representation. Today, NYAMA represents the spectrum of aviation professionals from the owners of the smallest privately owned airstrips to the management of New York's largest facilities serving millions of scheduled air carrier passengers annually, as well as private manufacturers, suppliers, consultants, and educators who serve the aviation industry in New York state and across the Globe.
