National Condom Week Kicks Off On Valentine’s Day
ALBANY, NY (02/14/2008)(readMedia)-- Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood (UHPP) kicks off National Condom Week on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2008 with multiple events at local nightspots. National Condom Week runs through February 22, 2008. This year, UHPP will use these events to announce the availability of a new and classy brand of condoms, Proper Attire™: Required for entry™, which have been developed specifically for the young, female market to encourage women to purchase and carry condoms. National Condom Week events will serve as sampling sites for the new condoms. Condoms used consistently and correctly provide the best protection against sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancy for sexually active individuals.
For the past five years, UHPP has partnered with local businesses, including bars, clubs, and coffee shops, during National Condom Week to offer events and fun give-away items to promote safer sex and proper condom use. Events include a variety of fun and educational games and giveaways. One of the games is called the “Wheel of Choices,” which is a roulette style wheel that asks people to answer questions about safer sex. At all events, UHPP will be distributing free safer-sex kits.
This year, UHPP is also distributing National Condom Week Proper Attire™ drink coasters. National Condom Week events are all about raising awareness about condom usage, supporting reproductive health education, and picking up your Proper Attire™ coaster and safer-sex kit. Patrons will have fun with the games and will learn from the questions and answers, while also having a chance to win prizes. For more information on National Condom Week and events, please visit the UHPP website at www.plannedparenthood.com/uhpp.
