ALBANY, NY (03/31/2026) (readMedia)-- As a result of his stewardship of the State pension fund and effective agency audits that cut down on fraud and hold government accountable, Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli has earned the endorsement of the New York State Public Employees Federation.
"Comptroller DiNapoli has been a friend to organized labor since he first came to office in 2007," said PEF President Wayne Spence. "The 60,000 State workers represented by PEF applaud the Comptroller's steady stewardship of the pension fund to ensure state workers can retire with dignity, and his work to protect pensioners by using his proxy voting rights to call out corporate wrongdoing and excessive executive compensation packages."
The PEF Executive Board met on March 26, 2026, to vote on the endorsement, as recommended by the union's Statewide Political Action Committee. In casting their vote, board members who work at the Office of the State Comptroller lauded DiNapoli for overseeing an agency that approaches every issue involving its unionized workforce in a respectful manner and serves as a model for how labor-management relations should be conducted.
