Olivia Sylvestro Earns ECAC Honor
BROCKPORT, NY (01/24/2013)(readMedia)-- Sophomore Olivia Sylvestro (Palm City, FL/Martin County) has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Coach's Choice Gymnast of the Week after the Golden Eagles improved to 2-0 on the year with a 185.375- 177.775 victory over Springfield on Saturday.
Sylvestro averaged a 9.475 on the vault for the second consecutive week. The score helped give Brockport an early lead as the Golden Eagles scored a 47.175 on the vault. In Brockport's final event of the day, Sylvestro provided another solid performance on the floor exercise. Last week against Ithaca, the sophomore scored a 9.40 on the floor. Against Springfield, Sylvestro upped her performance by scoring a meet-best 9.60 to lead Brockport to victory. The Golden Eagles scored a 47.150 on the floor.
Brockport takes to the road this weekend as the Golden Eagles travel to West Chester (Pa.) for a dual meet at 1:00 pm.
