2011 Liberty Ridge Farm Hubble Space Telescope Adventure Corn Maze

SCHAGHTICOKE, NY (08/16/2011)(readMedia)-- This year there's a very special celebration at Liberty Ridge Farm in Upstate NY. Liberty Ridge Farm one of the areas premier agri-tourism destinations located in the heart of the Albany - Saratoga Capital Region. This year the Farm has paired up with NASA and Goddard Space Flight Center in a mission named SpaceFarm7. This timely coordinated effort is a once in a lifetime celebration to highlight the successes of the NASA Space program. Liberty Ridge Farm was named the northeast representative for the outreach program and will commemorate the 20 year successful Hubble Space Telescope Program with the Hubble Space Telescope Adventure Corn Maze.

The SpaceFarm7, a collaboration of 7 agri-tourism destination across the United States is aimed at educating children on space exploration. The corn maze will have the Hubble Telescope, the Space Shuttle and a galaxy's worth of stars cut into the field and will have questions with hints and clues on space exploration that will help navigate the maze.

Now in their 12th season, they continues to provide a valuable resource to students and teachers with their - on the farm educational adventure. Liberty Ridge Farm has been creating fun and exciting lessons on the farm that meet NYS learning standards for Pre K-5th graders, the farm prides itself in offering the best fall school field trip in the Albany Capital District that builds teamwork, thru cooperation & communication.

Liberty Ridge Farm's out of this world Fall adventure field trips includes:

• Educational Center - Many educational and hands-on learning experiences on Dairy, Soil, Farming, Corn, Milling & Spinning.

• The Bee Barn - Is an observational bee hive, where students learn about the bees and the colony, their role in pollination and their significance to our every day life.

• JUMPING PILLOW - Each camper can experience and take part in Anti-gravity training on the gigantic Jumping Pillow

• Animal Pens - Teach about the names of the animals, their breeds and what they do for us on the farm.

•The Hubble Space Telescope Adventure Corn maze - An interactive learning experience that allows students to navigate their way through the twists and turns of outer space as they answer questions on space exploration.

•Brad's Barnyard - Hosts over 20 activities for body and mind that implement hand/eye coordination and exercise. New for 2011 the Jumping Pillow!

•Pumpkin Picking & Trolley Ride - Everyone takes home a pumpkin. The trolley takes you on a scenic tour of the farm & along the banks of the Hoosic River to the school pumpkin patch. The Farm provides a nice plastic bag for each person to carry their pumpkin home in.

The all inclusive three hour agricultural learning adventure is $9 for students and parental chaperones. Liberty Ridge Farm has been able to maintain admissions for all faculty and school staff at no charge.
