ALBANY, NY (05/15/2018) (readMedia)-- Nurses and EMS workers, represented by the New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF), will hold an informational picket and press conference to highlight the severe long-term shortage of health care workers at Stony Brook University Medical Center, the center's inability to retain qualified staff, pay inequity, and the affects these issues have on patient care.

WHAT: | The rally will start at 12 noon with a press conference at 12:30 p.m. with PEF President Wayne Spence and PEF health care workers from Stony Brook. The rally will continue to 3 p.m. A mobile billboard truck, with the message 'Stop Short Staffing' to help protect our patients, will be driving around the community Tuesday, May 15 and Wednesday, May 16, inviting the public to attend the press conference and informational picket. |
