PEF endorses Eric Adams for Brooklyn borough president
ALBANY, NY (08/16/2013)(readMedia)-- The New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF) today endorsed Eric Adams for Brooklyn borough president. Adams currently represents the 20th NYS Senate District. He has been a representative of Brooklyn in the state Legislature since 2007.
Adams is running in the state primary September 10 for the Democratic nomination to borough president position.
PEF President Susan Kent said, "I am pleased to announce the PEF Executive Board voted this morning to endorse Sen. Adams in his bid for this very important position in Brooklyn and Kings County. Sen. Adams has worked with PEF on many important issues, and he has played a pivotal role in helping us build support for continuing the high quality state medical, research and educational services of Downstate University Hospital in Brooklyn."
PEF represents approximately 55,000 professional, scientific and technical employees of New York State and other public and private employers. PEF is New York's second largest state-employee union.
