ALBANY, NY (03/31/2026) (readMedia)-- "Letitia James has been a relentless champion for working people and a steadfast ally of the labor movement," said Public Employees Federation President Wayne Spence, following a vote by the union's executive board to endorse her for reelection.
"As New York's chief attorney, she has delivered billions of dollars in settlements to taxpayers -- holding opioid manufacturers accountable and cracking down on predatory lenders. We are grateful for her unwavering commitment to workers' rights -- reflected in her strong, principled leadership of PEF members who work in her office -- and we are proud to endorse her for New York State Attorney General."
The PEF Executive Board met on March 26, 2026, to vote on the endorsement, as recommended by the union's Statewide Political Action Committee. In casting their vote, board members also mentioned James' strong legal actions to protect funding approved by Congress that was earmarked for New York, as well as her efforts to preserve and expand reproductive healthcare in New York and across the country.
