PEF members grant holiday wishes for children, families in need

ALBANY, NY (12/07/2012)(readMedia)-- Members of the New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF) will be reaching out to share the spirit of the holidays by wrapping donated gifts and toys for children and deserving families.

Union leaders and members will wrap gifts and assemble holiday baskets of food at PEF Headquarters, 1168-70 Troy-Schenectady Road in Latham, Saturday, December 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Some of the gifts and food baskets will be given to families of local parolees who are trying to be productive members of society, working but with low-wage jobs. Toys and other gifts will be donated to the Toys for Tots program and to St, Margaret's Children Center in Albany.

Parole officers and other PEF members who work in the Capital Region donated the toys and food items. This event marks the 22nd year since PEF started this annual tradition.
