PEF members salute workers at Labor Day events around the state

ALBANY, NY (08/31/2019) (readMedia)-- New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF) members will march in Labor Day parades throughout the state to commemorate the many achievements of the American worker and show that PEF is Union Strong and will stand together for a fair contract.

Nurses, accountants, engineers, and many more state professional, scientific and technical workers, will pick up signs and don union gear to show their solidarity and support for the PEF Contract Team.

"PEF's 52,000 members keep New York state running," said PEF President Wayne Spence. "As we honor the strength, prosperity, and well-being American workers bring to our country this Labor Day, PEF members will unite throughout the state to show support for their contract team. As vital public servants, the dedicated members of PEF deserve a contract that treats them with dignity and respect."

PEF members will be out in force Sept. 7 for the parade in New York City, marching only a few spots behind Governor Cuomo in the line-up. Armed with a special treat for parade viewers, union members will send the message that "New York Would Be Rotten if PEF Is Forgotten."
