Pastor and author Dr. Dan Doriani will be at Geneva College on March 21-22

Dr. Doriani to speak at Vos Memorial Lecture

BEAVER FALLS, PA (03/19/2012)(readMedia)-- Pastor and author Dr. Dan Doriani will visit Geneva College as part of the J.G. Vos Memorial Lecture Series, "God and the Riddles of Life: The Character of God, the Imitation of Christ and the Big Questions You Thought the Bible Ignores." On Wednesday, March 21, Dr. Doriani will speak on "Deep Friendship." On Thursday, March 22, he will present "Incarnate Life: Play, Sleep, Donuts and Cigarettes." Both engagements are at 7 p.m. in Skye Lounge of the college's Student Center and are free and open to the public.

Dr. Doriani is the senior pastor at Central Presbyterian Church in Clayton, Mo., and serves as an adjunct professor of New Testament at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. He has written 10 books and been a contributor to another seven. Dr. Doriani has written commentaries on Matthew and James, books about family and gender, and three books on biblical interpretation. Prior to his current pastorate, he served as Dean of the Faculty, Vice President of Academics and Professor of New Testament at Covenant Theological Seminary from 1991 to 2003.

Dr. Doriani received his B.A. from Geneva College in 1975. He earned his M.Div. and Ph.D. from Westminster Seminary and an S.T.M. from Yale University.

While at Geneva, Dr. Doriani will also present "Plans of the Heart" during the college's weekly chapel at 10:15 a.m. in Metheny Fieldhouse.
