ST. PAUL, MINN. (07/22/2013)(readMedia)-- The Minnesota State Fair's Amateur Talent Contest auditions begin tonight, Monday, July 22. Head to the fairgrounds for audition footage and interviews with performers.
Who?: Dancers, singers, comedians, jugglers - you name it! Performers of all ages audition in hopes of being one of the 120 acts chosen to perform during semifinals at the 2013 Minnesota State Fair. Semifinalists will perform at the Leinie Lodge Bandshell Aug. 22-31, and finalists will advance to the Grandstand stage Sept. 1.
When?: Monday, July 22 through Sunday, July 28. Auditions begin at 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Sessions typically run two to three hours.
Where?: The Minnesota State Fairgrounds at the Leinie Lodge Bandshell on Cosgrove Street, just north of the Space Tower.
What else?: There's still time for hopefuls to register and audition. Visit mnstatefair.org to register online or download an entry form. Also, the public is welcome to join us at the fairgrounds and be part of the audience at any or all of the audition sessions.
