The second annual Fairways for Airways Celebrity Golf Classic benefitting the American Lung Association and Jovante Woods Foundation will take place on Monday, May 6, 2013. Favorite Cincinnati sports celebrities past and present along with golfers and sports enthusiasts around the region are gathering for this year's event.

The tournament will take place at the Heritage Club in Mason, Ohio on Monday, May 6, 2013. Guests will have a chance to bid on the celebrity they wish to include in their foursome for the golf classic.

A special driving clinic will be hosted by Scott Smith, LDA World Long Drive Record Holder.

After the 11:00 a.m. shotgun start, competitions will be held during tournament play including prizes for hole-in-one, closest to the pin and longest drive.

Ending the day, guests will relish in the club's facilities and relax at the clubhouse enjoying a preview of the evening's auction items. Featured live and silent auction items will be available for bidding. The conclusion of the tournament day will consist of a cocktail reception, dinner, awards presentation, and auction.

After their son, Jovante Woods, died suddenly from a severe asthma attack, Chandra and Ickey Woods (former Cincinnati Bengals running back) were inspired to educate and assist others experiencing the loss of a loved one. With this, they founded the Jovante Woods Foundation, bringing asthma awareness to the community and providing asthma screenings and education to families in need.

With their shared dedication to asthma awareness, the American Lung Association has partnered in these efforts. Lung diseases such as asthma, lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) cannot yet be cured but they can be managed. One of the American Lung Association's top priorities is making sure that the more than 35 million Americans living with chronic lung diseases know what is needed to take control of their diseases.
