Projecting Hope Film Festival
The free Christian film festival runs the weekend of Oct. 25.
BEAVER FALLS, PA (10/08/2013)(readMedia)-- Geneva College is proud to sponsor the Projecting Hope Film Festival once again. In its 11th year, the free Christian film festival is will run from Friday, October 25 through Sunday, October 27, at the Fox Chapel Waterworks Cinemas, located in Fox Chapel just off Exit 8 on Route 28. Featured films include dramas, animated children's films, and light-hearted comedies, and are both Christian classics and pre-releases.
Tickets to the movies are free and can be picked up at the door on the day of the screening, beginning 45 minutes before the first film is shown. They will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.
The first film, to be shown at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 25, is The Ultimate Life, a sequel to the popular 2006 Christian film The Ultimate Gift. In it, billionaire Jason Stevens struggles to make his beloved Alexia a priority. Until he discovers his late grandfather's journal, which transports him back to Red Stevens' world.
An all-new Veggie Tales release, Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas, will be shown, along with another recent production, Veggie Tales: The Little House that Stood.
Also being shown during the festival are Unconditional, the tale of a woman whose husband is killed in a senseless act of violence; King's Faith, a new release about a born-again Christian teen dealing with both a suburban high school and an ugly past; Home Run, the story of a major-league pitcher who rethinks his life after a DUI benches him; The Confession, the story of Katie Lapp, a young Amish woman who goes on a journey in search of her identity, only to find herself embroiled in a mystery that must be solved before she can be reunited with the mother who gave her up to adoption 20 years earlier; Camp, about a slick investment advisor attempting to impress a prospective client by volunteering as a counselor at a camp for foster children; and a Saturday showing of The Ultimate Gift.
Other films include Abel's Field, Silver Bells, Season of a Lifetime, and the John Rhys-Davies-starring Return to the Hiding Place.
