Public Employees Federation endorses Schreibman

ALBANY (09/24/2012)(readMedia)-- New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF) President Susan Kent today announced the union, which represents 54,000 state employees and others, has endorsed Julian Schreibman for Congress in the 19th District.

"We need more members of Congress who have financed their own way through college and graduate school and previously worked in public service, who know through personal experience the needs of hardworking middle-class workers and their families," Kent said. "In Julian Schreibman we have such a person, who has already served our country well in assisting in the prosecution and conviction of four al-Qaida terrorists who bombed U.S. embassies and later fought to break up narcotics trafficking rings as a federal prosecutor."

"It is my honor to receive this endorsement," Schreibman said. "The men and women of PEF have a long history of helping our society invest in the future. If elected, I will fight to protect hardworking middle-class folks like the members of PEF, and work to create good jobs and grow our economy. I will also push to close corporate loopholes that reward companies that ship jobs oversees, and make sure that millionaires and billionaires pay their fair share in taxes."

PEF represents more than 54,000 professional, scientific and technical employees of New York and other public and private entities.
