KINGSTON, NY (04/25/2012)(readMedia)-- Julian Schreibman, Democratic candidate for the New York 19th, announced today that he earned a spot on the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's (DCCC) highly competitive Red-to-Blue program. Julian's campaign has surpassed demanding fundraising, organizing, and infrastructure goals and skillfully demonstrated to voters that he is a problem-solver who will protect the middle class when elected to Congress.

"I am honored that so many people in the Hudson Valley/Catskills Region have joined our grassroots campaign to create jobs, stand up for middle class families, protect Medicare and Social Security and fight for the American dream," said Julian Schreibman. "The early strength we have demonstrated by being named to the Red to Blue program means we have the support, confidence, and momentum it takes to win in November."

"As a former prosecutor who helped convict al Qaeda terrorists, Julian Schreibman knows what it means to protect the people of New York. Julian is building a strong grassroots campaign that focuses on creating good jobs and standing up to the extreme Republican agenda of ending Medicare while protecting tax cuts for billionaires and Big Oil." Said DCCC Chairman Steve Israel.

The DCCC's Red to Blue program highlights top Democratic campaigns across the country, and offers them financial, communications, grassroots, and strategic support. The program will introduce Democratic supporters to new, competitive candidates in order to help expand the fundraising base for these campaigns. The NY 19th is one of the most competitive races in the country with a Cook Report rating of Toss Up D+1. Obama carried this area by 54% in 2008.
