Spelman College Junior Maya Dixon Spends Summer Working as State House Intern
ATLANTA, GA (08/01/2011)(readMedia)-- Columbus, Ohio native Maya Dixon has her sights set on politics. Dixon, a junior at Spelman College, gained valuable experience this summer as a state house intern with Ohio Sen. Charleta B. Tavares (D-Columbus). As a state house intern, Dixon was responsible for doing legislative research, attending legislative committee meetings, and writing articles for the senator's newsletter.
In addition to her internship work, Dixon was one of two students representing Spelman in the August 2011 issue of Essence magazine in a photo spread titled, "What We're Wearing at HBCUS."
