Spelman Junior Amelia Henderson Receives Google-UNCF Scholarship

ATLANTA, GA (09/15/2011)(readMedia)-- Spelman College junior Amelia Henderson has received a $10,000 Google-UNCF academic scholarship. Henderson, a computer science and computer engineering major and member of Spelman's robotics team (SpelBots), is among a select group of 16 computer science students to receive the scholarship which aims to increase access to technology for students and faculty at historically Black colleges and universities.
In addition to the scholarship, Google-UNCF scholars are invited to attend the annual Google Scholars Retreat next summer at the Googleplex in Mountain View, Calif.
Henderson is a graduate of Redan High School in Stone Mountain, Ga.
