State Fair Commemorative Art to be Unveiled at 11 a.m. This Morning

ST. PAUL, MINN. (06/05/2013)(readMedia)-- See the Minnesota State Fair?s 2013 Official Commemorative Art for the very first time as artist Marie Olofsdotter unveils it on the fairgrounds.

When?: 11 a.m. TODAY, Wednesday, June 5

Who?: Minneapolis artist Marie Olofsdotter was chosen to create the 2013 Official Commemorative Art from nearly 30 applicants in the State Fair?s commemorative art call for submissions. The original piece captures agriculture as the heart of the State Fair, as well as Minnesotans' rich relationship with the land. Her signature style is lyrical, magical realism – saturated with color and mapped with flowing lines and bold shapes.

Where?: J.V. Bailey House, 1263 Cosgrove St., Minnesota State Fairgrounds, south of the Space Tower

Other Details?: The 2013 Official Commemorative Art is the 10th in a series of annual artwork created exclusively for the State Fair. The commemorative poster, a limited number of signed prints and other merchandise will be available for purchase after the unveiling at msffoundation.org.
