Statement from PEF President Wayne Spence on the Midterm Election Results

ALBANY, NY (11/07/2018) (readMedia)-- Wayne Spence, president of the New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF), congratulates Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul on their victory for a third term leading New York state.

"PEF is proud to stand with the governor who has supported the labor movement and values the work of state employees. PEF looks forward to achieving the goals of Gov. Cuomo in his quest to further support state workers, and to achieve the benefits all New Yorkers deserve.

"The PEF leadership and membership, who endorsed labor-friendly candidates, also congratulate the State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, the history-making Letitia James, who won the post of attorney general, and U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, for her second-six-year term.

"These state leaders, and the many other victorious individuals who were supported by the PEF membership, will be making a difference in our state Legislature. They will help champion our mutual goals to maintain the good we have in New York and improve the future. PEF looks forward to working together with each of them," Spence said.
